Preventive Dentistry
What Is Preventive Dentistry?
Preventive dentistry focuses on keeping patients' smiles healthy before any problems develop. Daily brushing and dental cleanings play a large role in preventing issues such as cavities, gum disease, and other common oral health concerns.
The key to good oral hygiene is consistent maintenance both at home and at our office during regularly scheduled dental appointments. We can help you keep your teeth clean and catch signs of issues like tooth decay early, avoiding further damage.
Our Preventive Services
Fluoride Treatments
Fluoride is a naturally occurring substance that strengthens enamel and helps protect the teeth against decay. While many over-the-counter products have fluoride, our doctors use stronger, more effective products. We generally recommend fluoride treatments for children, as they are more susceptible to cavities. However, adults prone to decay can benefit from fluoride treatments, as well.
Oral Cancer Screening
Our dentists typically perform oral cancer screenings as part of your biannual exam. These preventive screenings are an affordable and effective way to catch signs of oral cancer early, improving the chances of successful treatment. We use VELscope® technology to identify potential signs of cancer, such as white spots or lesions.
Periodontal Care
Healthy gums are crucial to the overall stability of your smile. Dr. Daniel Han is a certified periodontist who provides comprehensive periodontal care. By treating signs of gum disease early, you can prevent the development of more extensive issues, such as periodontitis or tooth loss.
Salivary Diagnosis
Our team uses salivary diagnostic testing to evaluate the levels of bacteria in your mouth. Knowing these levels can help our doctors identify the most effective treatments to prevent other issues from arising.
Sealants
A dental sealant is a thin plastic covering which protects the chewing surfaces of your molars from dangerous bacteria. When combined with consistent at-home care, sealants can reduce the risk of cavities for both children and adults.
Real 5-Star Reviews "The hygienist was incredibly patient with my 3-year-old!"
Always have good care. Staff are all so friendly and they take the time to get to know people personally. So nice to walk in for a cleaning and have them remember our conversation from 6 months prior.
View On GoogleSuper friendly and helpful! My rambunctious 3 year old has never been able to sit for a cleaning until we came to this office. The hygienist was incredibly patient and spent time making him feel comfortable. I am very happy with our experience. Highly recommend!
